River Way recently had the pleasure of presenting the money raised from our annual Camp Leadership Conference to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation’s Champ Camp.

Champ Camp is a week-long, residential summer camp experience for child burn survivors ages 5-16. Each year, approximately 130 children attend this weeklong summer camp held here at River Way during the same time as our staff training. The main focus of camp is for burn survivors to have fun and just be kids away from medical procedures and financial hardships. Camp provides a safe environment where burn survivors can play, learn, grow, gain self-esteem, and make new friends.
Our staff are always eager and happy to help out in any possible way during that week. This is why it really meant a lot for our staff to raise approximately $1,200 during our silent auction.
While that amount may not seem like it will change the world, it may change the world for one child. The goal was to raise $750 – the minimum amount needed to send one new child to Champ Camp. We know the power and transformation that Champ Camp provides for children and could not be more proud of our staff for going above and beyond.
Thank you to everyone who donated and a big special thank you to AARBF’s Champ Camp for letting us be a part of their amazing cause.
