Buddha started with River Way in 2008 as a counselor, and worked his way up to Ski Lake Director before he left in 2012. Gone but not forgotten, he made his return in 2013 as “Trip Leader” for River Way Abroad – United Kingdom, leading campers touring the UK. Every area of camp benefited from Buddha’s infectious personality. You could always find him on the microphone pumping camp spirit or jamming to our favorite summer camp tunes at the lake!
“Currently I am a Junior Communication and Broadcast Journalism student at USC. I host a live TV show called “The Morning Brew” on Mondays at 10am. I host CU@USC live on Wednesdays at 6:30pm, and I am a panelist on “Platform Sports” live on Thursdays at 5:30pm. I am a red carpet correspondent for “The SCoop”, USC’s school newspaper. I also broadcast Basketball, Football and Baseball games live for KXSC radio station which covers all USC sports.
My dream is to host my own TV show conducting interviews with influential people and celebrities. The reasons behind putting in so many hours a week broadcasting is to create a reel for once I have graduated and am applying for jobs. Also to gain the experience of working in a professional TV studio before I leave college.
Working at camp has helped me with my communication skills which are necessary in an industry where over twenty people work on every show that I am on, and also with my guests that I interview. It has also helped me with speaking in front of large groups of people and being natural and comfortable whilst doing so.”
