What a weekend it was! Over forty staff joined us for our 2nd annual Camp Leadership Conference (CLC). The weekend was aimed at improving yourself as an individual, not just in camp, but in the real world, as well. There were seven outside speakers and three different camp directors (Camp Ocean Pines, Jameson Ranch Camp, and Catalina Island Camps), giving attendees a wide variety of topics from which to choose. Among the topics were; “How to choose the right internship”, “Starting a small business”, “Interviewing techniques”, “The business of creating fun”, “Communication coaching”, “How to get the most out of your employment”, and many more!
This year’s conference marked the first time staff members from different camps joined our River Way counselors and managers at the conference. Each night consisted of socializing and fun evening programs, reminding us all of why working at camp is so much fun!
We are proud to announce that on the final day of the conference we held a silent auction benefiting the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation’s Champ Camp. Champ Camp is a week-long, residential summer camp experience for child burn survivors ages 5-16, who have been treated at California hospitals, or are current residents of California. We have developed a great relationship and love to be involved as much as possible. We were able to raise over $1,200 for help in sending more children to Champ Camp.
A big thank you to all of our attendees for making the CLC a huge success!
