River Way Ranch Camp will be sponsoring its staff as athletes to participate in the 24th Annual MESP Nautica Malibu Triathlon on Sunday, September 12, 2010.  This event raises money for L.A. Children's Hospital for the Pediatric Cancer Research Program.  River Way is proud to be a Sponsor of such a worthy cause.

Staff for this event, who come from all over the world, will participate as individuals or on relay teams.  Each participant must raise $175. We have a team goal of $5000. Our River Way community is encouraged to attend this wonderful event and support their favorite staff member by wearing a special River Way Triathlon shirt that will be available for purchase on our website in June.  All monies raised from the t-shirt sales will go directly to L.A. Children's Hospital.

River Way believes its staff should be leaders and mentors in their communities.  It is this characteristic that has made River Way one of the most respected and awarded camps in the Nation.  Due to this long standing tradition of excellence, River Way has been twice honored with the #1 Family Business Award in 2008 and 2001.

Through the role models of their counselors, River Way campers learn first hand the value of volunteerism and the important role it plays to the world at large.  River Way has chosen the triathlon to be both a vehicle for volunteerism and also health and fitness.  With children today spending more time in front of a computer or t.v. than outside playing, the need for unstructured, free play education is at a premium.
