River Way is most known for its extensive and impressive list of activities. With over 65 different activities to choose from, Campers can gain new skills and experiences while enjoying time with friends and counselors.

Campers participate in four activity periods per day. With each activity period lasting an hour and a half, campers have the time to get a well-rounded exposure to their activity. Buckaroos participate in activities as a bunk and Rancheros and Seniors can design their own activity schedule.

Programs are flexible and River Way does encourage campers to try new experiences. However, campers never have to participate in an activity if they do not wish to.

Film School:

Campers will write, direct and produce their very own film. They will take their own ideas, turn them into a screenplay, cast the best actor for each role and then shoot, edit and screen the film. Campers will also be involved in producing the end of session video to be viewed by all of camp on the final Friday.

We will focus on: 1) Screen Writing; 2) Production (including lighting, sound, camera work and much more) 3) Post-Production 4) Editing Technologies. Camper’s will have the ability to use Final Cut Pro, premier editing software used in the industry, and iMovie. They will use state of the art High Def and Digital Cameras. Paintball:

Due to popular demand, River Way would like to introduce its newest specialty camp - Paintball. Don't miss this opportunity to have hours of fun experiencing the thrill of gaining tactical advantages while performing professional drills on our state-of-the art Paintball Course.

Watersports:

ALL campers love getting WET! And there is no place like River Way Ranch Camp if you like Water sports!

From one end of the camp to the other, all day, every day, campers are splashing, swimming, and playing games in one of our two pools. That is if they are not waterskiing, wakeboarding, or waverunning at our nearby lake.
Water sports include Waterskiing, Wakeboarding, Wakeskating, Wakesurfing, Kneeboarding, Waverunners, Tubing, Water Slides, Water Basketball, Swimming, and dozens more!!

Safety is Key to Water Fun

We take water safety seriously at River Way! You can send your camper here with the knowledge that the finest certified lifeguards and trained boat and waverunner operators will have an eye on swimmers and boaters every second they are in the water. Our lifeguards are certified by the American Red Cross including Water Safety Instructors (WSI).

Outcamps:

In addition to offering over 65 activities, River Way campers are also able to venture off-site with our qualified staff to explore more of what Central California has to offer. The camper favorite is the visit to Sequoia National Park and Forest. Campers hike among the Redwoods, swim in the lake, roast S’Mores, and sleep under the stars.
Other Outcamp adventures include: Laser Tag, Bowling, Water Park, Ice Skating, White Water River Rafting, Triple-A Baseball games, and more.

Evening Programs:

River Way's evening programs are organized by camper division, with several all-camp evening programs per session. Our talent staff is always thinking up new and hilarious ways to entertain campers!

Programs may include:
Dances, Talent Shows, and Scavenger Hunts.
