Everything You Need to Know About River Way Ranch Camp!

Location and Facilities

Nestled in the majestic foothills of Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks, River Way is home to the Wonder Valley Ranch Resort and Conference Center. For the summer months, this first class resort turns into one of the Nation’s premier resident summer camp facilities. Transportation to camp is via Charter bus from Southern California and the Bay area. Families are also welcome to fly or drive children to camp.

Camp Philosophy

River Way has become a family tradition. Through years of experience and program development, River Way prides itself on creating successful camp experiences proven to increase a child’s self-esteem and confidence. Our caring and devoted staff guide campers through new adventures as they learn new skills, meet new friends and reach each goal, one step at a time. River Way strives for campers to return home with a strong sense of self-worth, a higher level of confidence and a broadened excitement to try new activities. River Way places special emphasis on first time campers.

Highly Accredited

River Way Ranch Camp is a member of the American Camping Association. Every three years River Way is evaluated by an accreditation committee and has maintained its outstanding reputation as “one of the better camps in the United States.” With compliance scores of 99-100% each accreditation, River Way is committed to delivering one of the highest quality programs in the Nation.

Owners and Directors

Founder, Stan Oken, and his family have owned and operated River Way Ranch Camp since 1967. With over 100 years combined experience, the Oken family continues to provide a stable, fun and educational summer adventure for children. Recipients of the #1 Family Business Award in 2001 and chosen as the “feature camp” for the “Today’s Family” show, in 2004, the Oken family, along with a year round staff, devote the entire year to the planning and organizing of the upcoming summer.

Resident Doctor or Nurse

To ensure the highest standards of health and safety, a doctor and/or registered nurse live on the premises and will remain on duty at all times. An onsite fire department offers additional medical support staff.
